Going Global: Ecuador

Each year, a team of medical students from the University of Louisville School of Medicine partners with Timmy Global Health and travels to Ecuador to provide care for underserved communities. Without the clinics that Timmy Global Health has established, people from these communities would have to travel a long distance to see a doctor and have no continuum of care—so we bring the clinic to them!

To do our work we bring medications and equipment with us to treat medical issues and provide adult and pediatric preventive care. In addition, we help to fund Timmy's referral system. Students working these clinics often see patients who need more services than what is provided on-site. Facilitating and funding a patient's ability to see a specialist in their country who can diagnose and manage their illnesses is a huge benefit that these patients would not otherwise have access to.

Your gift, of any amount, will go directly toward providing medical care, treatment, and referrals for patients.

Each dollar raised will be used to purchase medications, equipment, and support patient referrals in remote Ecuador. This opportunity not only allows students to serve patients abroad, but will provide us with valuable skills that we can use to treat our future patients. When we return, we will have a better understanding about barriers to accessing healthcare, how culture affects health, and our roles in helping people from all walks of life. Thank you for your support!

$100

I'll Give $100

While abroad, our students will see 100 patients per clinic treating daily aches and pains, treating common infections, and providing some adult and pediatric preventative care.
